This series of reprints from official air publications originally compiled by the Air Ministry for service use affords an entirely new dimension in the study of combat aircraft.
Published in cooperation with the RAF Museum, Hendon, these are the original workshop manuals to the aircraft of the Royal Air Force technical bibles, providing all the essential information needed by the pilots, crews and mechanics who flew and maintained them.

The most famous aeroplane of the Second World War, the Spitfire traced its ancestry back to the elegant high-speed seaplanes that R J. Mitchell designed for the Schneider trophy contest, including the Supermarine S6B, which captured the World Air Speed Record for Great Britain.
The Spitfire V was the third major production the of the breed to see service with the RAF.
It entered service in March 1941, and saw active service in a wide variety of operational areas, including Russia, Malta, the Western Desert and the Far East , remaining in production until October l943, by which time well over 6000 had been built.
A distinguished variant of a peerless fighter, the Spitfire V, has come to be regarded as the classic of the “pure” Spitfire the epitome of the breed.

Si tratta di un manuale completo, che tra le tante informazioni integra, per la gioia dei pilotastri della domenica, anche i controlli pre-volo, procedure di avviamento, rullaggio, decollo, salita, atterraggio , spinning, ed altre manovre acrobatiche.
Insomma un bellissimo testo.

Beh! vista la consistenza del manuale dovresti trascorrere una giornata sullo scanner!
A differenza del materiale di produzione Italiana, questo lo puoi trovare tranquillamente su internet a costi variabili a seconda che si tratti di una edizione nuova o usata.
Per ulteriori basta digitare “Raf museum series” e scoprirai quanto sia facile trovare la soluzione che più si adatta alle esigenze delle tue tasche!!

Trovato e dato che c’ero ho ordinato anche il manuale dell’Hurricane II

Gironzolando su Internet, ho potuto scaricare (legalmente) questi due manuali in formato pdf che non sono la versione completa dei manuali (ovviamente) ma contengono le pilot notes che ritengo possano essere interessanti.

una piccola nota:
il manualetto dello spit II contiene alcune pagine bianche, o mi sbaglio ?

Il secondo, quello relativo allo spit XVI, è preceduto da una piccola ricostruzione storica dell’aereo che non guasta.

In ogni caso, trattasi di documenti non ufficiali e questo lo dico solo a scopo informativo.

Potrei averne una copia anche io ?
